The White Rabbit's Vampire: the Masquerade - Redemption multiplayer character add-on pack. 18 October 2000 - version 1.1 Updates to version 1.1 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * Version 1.1 is now fully compatible with Vampire 1.1 and the .nob standard for mods and add-ons, which also servs to make the total download size even smaller! * Added 4 Player models that were accidentially left out of the initial release, they are DA Kazi, MD Kazi (as they appear in the single player portion of the game), Wounded Christof and Christof in Rags (as he appears variously in the single player portion of the game) Current Ideas for Future Updates ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * Fixing feral claws. This can be done, at least for some of the models. Some of the others may take some extra doing to get them to appear correctly. The process is very time consuming, and if anyone would like to volunteer their help and is comfortable with hexadecimal editing of binary files, please contact me. * Skinned Upgrades and UI Heads. If I can put together a team of skinners willing to work on this, and try my own hand at skinning, I can add upgrades and more appropriate looking heads to the models that do not have upgrades or their own heads. This also will be a very time consuming process, and will require the aid of any skilled skinners willing to donate their time. Uninstalling Version 1.0 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To uninstall Version 1.0, simply delete the following files from the directory where you have installed Vampire: \misc\mpcharacters.txt \misc\Templates\Multiplayer.not \strings\system.nls By installing this add-on pack, you agree not to hold its creator, the distributor, Nihilistic Software, Activision, White Wolf, or anyone aside from yourself responsible for any errors or problems that may develop as a result of using it. This add on adds over 80 models to the muliplayer selection screen, allowing for a greater variety of player models in multiplayer play. It does not add any NEW models or skins, it just uses those that are included with the game that have the appropriate animations to be used as player characters. To install: Simply unzip the mp_charpack11.zip file to the directory where you installed V:tMR. The default directory is "C:\Program Files\Vampire The Masquerade - Redemption" After you do that, start Vampire as you normally would and the new model choices will be available from the character creation screen. Known Issues: You may have noticed all of the new selections have (NU) after their names in the selection screen. This stands for No Upgrades, meaning model upgrades. What this means is that when you use one of the new model selections and equip armor that would show an upgrade on a normal model, no change will show up on the screen. Another issue is that there are no hand models to represent Feral Claws associated with these models. The discipline will work, but the lack of a new model means that the hands may stay the same, they may vanish, or one may vanish and the other may stay the same. This does not affect gameplay, Feral Claws will work as it always has, it just may look a little odd. Compatibility: I did my best to make this add-on pack as compatible as I could with people who don't have it installed yet. To that end, it will work with people who do not have it, as long as you are using one of the 19 original models when you join their game. If you do try to join with an unsupported model, you will receive the error message "The server did not recognize the multiplayer model used by your player. Please use another player or a different server." and you will be returned to the chat room. If you are the ST, people can still join your game, however instead of the model you are using, Dark Ages Christof will appear on their display. The add-on should be compatible with any existing add-ons or skin packs you are using, however if they had already incorporated a prior version of my Distribution: This add-on pack may be freely distributed and modified as users see fit. If you do modify it, please include documentation and credit Contact: Comments, questions, bug reports and complaints are all welcome.
