They think it's all over! It is now...

I think it is about time to call it a night. To be honest, the engine is dead. The idea was sound but it just never came together and now I must leave to concentrate on more financially rewarding endeavours. It's been a great couple of years and Vampire Noir in this format hits two years old just in time to face it's demise. The films may continue but you will have to look out for those elsewhere (a hint: try key-phrases 'Get Out There' and 'British Telecom' and then wait)

Apologies for absence

Er... Just a quick note. Vampire Noir is currently on-hold. We are not cancelling it, nor deciding to abandon our aims and ideals. We are just all a little busy right now, so more updates will come later.
Some of you may have realised that there was a small problem yesterday with the coding on the site. Apparently another hosted Gamespy site was using certain code maliciously and so they had to suspend certain functions of ASP to deal with the problem. As you can see, Noir is back. I have updated certain code that needed updating anyway, so no harm done I suppose...
I am so very sorry for the long period of inactivity. There were problems with my PC preventing me from updating the news or even get any work done on Noir. The rest of the team have been busy working and so we should be fine. Just a few things to clear up. 1) Vampire-Noir is not dead. 2) Planet Vampire is not dead or being deleted. 3) We are not moving to another server right now. 4) Yes, I do have a life away from the PC.

A new breed of darkness

Ray Vic and Renzatic wanted to create something dark and dingey, something that would evoke the senses in a way the World of Darkness should. I think they tapped a little of the community's ambient gothic feel after seeing the latest screenshot from the teaser maps. The basement of the hotel, not a place to wander alone... Click to see what I mean...
Well, I have placed another three captures from Embrace into the shots section. They are all shots from the interior of the hotel map to be featured in the teaser release. These show three views of the main lobby map - the main door, a stairwell and some lifts (elevators). (I saw the blueprints. I liked the blueprints. I saw the map. I realised it was about 10 times bigger than I had thought. I really liked the map...)
Well, we now have our very own boards at this link, seperate from the Planet Vampire boards (that were often criticised in e-mails, you know who you are...) and entirely ours. They are the basic Gamespy ASP boards but they'll do for our purposes...
How about in-game renders? We have two new shots from Renzatic, here and here. As you can see, we are moving on quite well (compare these shots with the shots from the editor, Embrace - lighting is everything...) but no more foolish promises of release dates. It will be worth the wait, just to see the outcome.
Well, since it is Christmas already, we thought we would give you a treat. We have uploaded two new shots from upcoming maps. See them here and here. In other news, have a very merry and reasonably safe Christmas. For those of legal age, a tip - the best way to avoid a hang-over is... Never stop drinking!
Well, I know Christmas is only on Tuesday and I did say we were trying to get the teaser out by then but... you see... you can't rush an artist. This especially goes for a five-man team of artists. Er... To relieve the stress, go and watch Lord of the Rings. I personally recommend it, then we will get back to you all when we are ready, dah-ling...
