Spock Interview

As part of my continuing interview series, I recently spoke with Spock, creator of the WoD Changeling Mod - Reclamation. All the questions used in this interview came from the public, who submitted them by e-mail.
Jelan: How long have you been doing the type of coding that you're doing for
WoD Mod?
Spock: As far as Java, since Vampire started. Well I had 1 intro class at School but that was it.
I hated Java when i took the class but Vampire was using it as a Scriptiü«.Janguage so I tried it again. I got to like it better and it involved into what I do now.
Jelan: Will you be doing any other mods besides Changeling?
Spock:Im also working on the Character Sheet Mod. When I finish both of those I will pick up on the mod that needs the most help.
Jelan: What inspired you to do the Changeling Mod?
Spock: Changeling has always been my favorite White Wolf game. It is actually the only one that I bought the rule books for.
Jelan: If you could start the mod over, what would you do differently?
Spock: I would have had more organization and tried to get more done. I should be able to catch up and finish the mod by the next WoDMod release.
Jelan: If you had one piece of adivce for a beginning mod writer, what would
it be?
Spock: Do not repeat the code of someone else. Imagine how you want it to work and learn the necessary knowledge to do it. Also remember that anything is possible if you stick to it and add in imagination.
Jelan: If you put together a single player chronicle, what events in Changeling
history would you like to include?
Spock: I actually wouldn't include them. I prefer to use my own material and my changeling material can get really far out there. :) I would probably use key figures like High King David though.
Jelan: What cantrips would you put in if coding wasn't an issue?
Spock: All of them :) The foretelling are the real problems. I have overcome a lot of things in the engine but I don't think I can squeeze that out of the engine :)
Jelan: What is your "real life" job?
Spock: Well, I am a student and I have 2 part-time jobs. I work at the computer lab at my College and I have a Programming Job with a big company.
Jelan:If Nihilistic offered you a position, would you take it?
Spock: Most definitely. I really want to work in the game industry. I am definitely going to try to :)
Jelan: Did you get the normal or collector's edition of Vampire?
Collector's Edition, of course :)
Jelan: Would you like to see an official Changeling game?
Spock: Most definitely......what would be cooler is if someone would hire me to write it :)
Jelan: What new programs for Vampire do you have in the works?
Spock: I have Chronicle Workstation on the works but no ETA yet. I also have the external character sheet mod.
Jelan: Will you be adding new console commands for the Changeling Mod?
Spock: I was playing tonight and I realized one thing the changeling mod needs the most...console commands. There is so much that you need to do that you can't right now.
Jelan: What kind of education do you have?
Spock: I am a senior in College and will be graduating in July and hopefully completing my dream by getting in the game industry.
Jelan: What do you do in your free time other than playing around with
Redemption?
Spock: Well I am working on a video game at the moment, although vampire is soaking most of my time from it. Aside from that I play games (WoDMod and CounterStrike..oh yeah :) ), watch movies, and hang out with my friends.
Jelan: What are your plans for the future of the Changeling Mod?
Spock: Well...I am targeting that Changeling will be finished in the next release of WoDMod. Although there may be more models and maybe an add-on later on.
