    Guide 8 - The Stephansdom

How to Get There:

The only way to get to inside the Stephansdom is to go into the secret entrance inside the astrological clock. To get there, return to the inner stradt and follow the building to your left-looking up you can see the clock outlined against the night sky. One of the buildings is open-you can enter and climb to its upper levels, eventually emerging ontothe rooftops through a window. Follow a path along the rooftops until you reach the face of the clack itself. A hidden door reveals itself and takes you inside the clock.

General Strategy:

The best way to navigate your way through the first part of the Stephansdom is to seperate your coterie and go solo (click the little green button next to the character portrait to remove them from the group). The reason behind this strategy is because of the sunlight. The sunlight will be visible on the ground so avoid it if possible. If the sun is unavoidable then turn on celerity and dart through it.

Stephansdom 1:

Head down the wooden stairs inside the clock tower, fighting your way past the two Lasombra ghouls.

Walk carefully on the shadowed side of the wall, avoiding the sunlight. Stay out of the sunlight as you follow the alleyway around. You'll run into some ghouls and rats. Remember not to chase them into the sunlight, they aren't harmed by it but you are. The alleyway bends back into the clock tower.

A swinging pendulum blocks your path. Before going past it, head down the wooden stairs to the basement of the clock tower. A bunch of rats guard guard valuable treasure including a tome of dominate. Go back up the stairs and then use celerity to speed past the pendulum. Push the pressure pad on the wall to disable the pendulum.

Beyond the pendulum the alleyway splits in two. If you go left, you come upon more ghouls guarding a claymore and stairs that lead down into a dark basement. A group of ghouls will oppose you here, but don't worry, there is no sun here. If you turned left, the alley leads to the same cave entrance, but with fewer ghouls and more danger from the sun.

A sloping path in direct sunlight leads up to a barricaded cave. A ghoul will try and fight you in the sun, lure him into the shadows.

A set of 3 levers is by the barricaded cave. Pull the middle first, then the right, and then the left. Head on to level 2.

Stephansdom 2:

Now that you're in the dark, you can reunite your party if you'd like. Some parts of the tunnels emerge in the sun so you may also decide to keep them seperated for a little longer.

As you move through the tunnel, ghouls armed with crossbows attack you, then you enter a chamber full of rats. Check corners for tomes and jewelry they keep stashed. Continue to fight until you see sunlight again.

The alley between the building splits. If you go down between the buildings into sunlight, you'll fight a ghoul and some rats, and claim your loot. Going up through sunlight, you must fight the ghoul guards and then throw open the double doors that take into the basement of Stephansdom itself.

Fight your way past the guards. If you look above the fireplace in the room, you'll see five buttons. Turn around and look in the mirror on the opposite wall-two of the buttons are lit up. Press the buttons and the door will open up to you.

Kill the final ghoul blocking you from entering level 3, then head through the door.

Stephansdom 3:

Reunite the coterie and head through the cellar fighting your way through until you reach the stairs. Follow them up, fighting ghouls at each level you reach.

When the stairs end you'll eventually come to round chamber with puctures on the walls. You'll encounter Dark Hunters in this room. Use attacks with aggravated damage to kill them quicker.

Before you leave this chamber and after you kill all the Dark Hunters, search the alcoves of the room to find the Heart Shield.

More Dark Hunters and ghouls guard the corridor outside the room. Follow the corridor around to the stairs and then fight your way to the resting place of Luther Black.

Do what Luther asks you to do, open the window and kill him. Head up the stairs outside of his chamber. Take 2 of your coterie and position them each by a lever. Flip one and then switch over to other character and flip the other switch. You have to do it this way or the window won't open.

Leave the haven and go back down the stairs. As you are leaving the double crossing count Orsi captures you and throws you in the dungeons. He has betrayed you.

Coming up next, how to escape the Tuetonic Knights base!
