Once we've answered your question, we'll add it to the FAQ.   General Questions: Where can I find the NOD SDK (or the 1.1 SDK patch)? How do I use the cheats?? How do I activate the console? How do I open/extract files from a .NOB file??? How do I put files back into a nob file?? My game crashes! I get a verification error when I log on to play multiplayer. Game Play: How can I identify an object? ST Mode: How do I move props to where I want them once I've placed them? The Embrace: How do I add sky to my level? GenSurf data ends up as sectors when I import GenSurf data is crashing The Embrace! Objects turn out unlit/black when I play my level When I shift+left click to select a brush, nothing happens! I'm getting "Attempted to create in static layer. Object moved to first layer." I get twinkly lines on sector boundaries in multiplayer My objects don't appear when I play my map There's a hole in the wall where my door should be! My textures appear on the outside of brushs and not the inside! How do you add a layer of water that can be walked through? NODview: ERROR: "Problem with command line parameters" Skinning: How do I get started skinning? Q: When I attempt to launch NODview I get the following error. "Problem with command line parameters" What am I doing wrong? A: NODview should be run from the command line. Here's a blurb from the SDK docs on it: NODView ------- This tool can be used to view all the models in the game. NOD View cannot read files from .nob files, so you must extract any files you wish to view. For NOD View to work correctly, you should set it's working directory to the same directory that you installed vampire into. Command line parameters are '-model' and '-anim'. So, it's best to run NODview from a DOS command line from your root vampire install directory, something like this: C:\Program Files\Vampire> nodsdk\nodview -model cashUS.nod (You could just move nodview into your Vampire directory and save some hassle). The awful alternative to this is to make a shortcut that sets all this up for you, but that's so vile it's not even worth considering, IMO. :) Please send feedback, questions, or bugs to darklord@planetvampire.com.
